Maple Street’s Upper School spans 5th – 8th grades. Upper School students continue to focus on the core values of community, respect, and responsibility, modeling behavior informed by those values for their peers as well as for younger students.
Our Upper School curriculum builds students’ knowledge, abilities, and spirit of inquiry, as they continue to strengthen and utilize core academic skills including writing, reading, language development, public speaking, mathematics, social studies, and science. Students are challenged at their own levels of development, while also undertaking group projects that require critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. Students have classes in art, PE, foreign language, and music many times throughout the week. Teachers recognize that each child is unique and help students use strategies that best suit their learning styles.
