Rebecca Schaffer

University of Oregon
Child Development Associate (CDA), Penn State University

Rebecca joined Maple Street School’s Pre-K program after spending five years as a Preschool Teacher at the JCC Brody Family Early Learning Center in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. She is passionate about creating a warm, engaging environment where young children can learn through play, build confidence and independence, and develop strong social-emotional skills.

Before becoming an early childhood educator, Rebecca owned and operated a personal training gym in New York City and taught English in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Her varied experiences have shaped her appreciation for lifelong learning, cultural awareness, and the importance of building meaningful connections with children and families.

Rebecca has completed extensive professional development in early childhood education, including training in self-regulation, executive functioning, social-emotional learning, developmental delays, and autism support. Outside the classroom, she loves playing guitar and singing, spending time with her two boys, and finding plenty of reasons to laugh.
