Summer Reading and Resources for Intermediate and Upper School Families
July 16, 2025
Happy summer, Maple Street families!
We’re excited to support your child’s ongoing literacy development throughout the summer months. Please review the following important details regarding summer reading assignments and available resources:
Intermediate Grade Families (4th & 5th)
Here you will find the Rising 4th Summer Reading Assignment and Rising 5th Summer Reading Assignment. Copies of the required books are available for pickup in the Manchester library behind the BBA display. We encourage students to engage with these materials to continue their literacy growth over the summer. Enjoy your reading adventures! If you have any questions please reach out Siobhan Murphy at smurphy@maplestreetschool.com.
Upper School Families
Below you will find the summer reading assignment specifically for rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Copies of the required books are available for pickup in the school library.
We’re also pleased to announce that Mary Mangiacotti, in her new role as Literacy Coordinator, will be teaching short mini-lessons focused on sentence structure, grammar, and mechanics in the Upper School English classroom. The summer writing assignment related to the required reading will provide her with valuable insights into each student’s current skill levels.
If you have any questions about summer reading or assignments, please reach out directly to Conor Welch at cwelch@maplestreetschool.com.
Wishing you all a wonderful summer filled with enjoyable reading!
