Grade 3
Third grade is an age of discovery and exploration. Whether third graders are in our homeroom, outdoors, on field trips, or at school community events, their learning occurs in an environment where fun and enthusiasm are key elements, all individuals are celebrated, and there is a strong sense of community.
Academically, the third grade curriculum is designed to support and guide students through exposure to more content area reading. Basic math skills are reviewed and reinforced, and new concepts in the areas of multiplication, fractions, area, and perimeter are introduced.
Thematic units on world cultures, local ecosystems, and electricity and magnetism are woven throughout the curriculum via inquiry- and project-based lessons.
